The work, divided into four lots, is included in the three-year framework agreement of ANAS Spa for the execution of scheduled maintenance works on the viaducts along the A2 ‘Autostrada del Mediterraneo’ including the ‘Rago Carr’ viaducts. North’, ‘Rago Carr. South’, ‘Stupino Carr. North’, ‘Stupino Carr South’, ‘Ruiz Carr. North’, ‘Ruiz Carr South’.
In particular, Lot 2 concerns scheduled maintenance works on the Rago Carr Viaduct. North and the Rago Carr Viaduct. South of the A2 ‘Autostrada del Mediterraneo’. The Rago viaduct located in the municipality of Morano Calabro (CS), is 400 metres long with a height of 147 metres from the valley floor.
The height of the deck slab of the viaduct in relation to the ground is particularly high and the piles of the viaduct push down on the riverbed of the Rago river and therefore, maintenance foresees the deconstruction of the metal deck with prestressed concrete slab instead of demolition, and the subsequent assembly of the viaducts using the end-on technique with the aid of a launching nose.
