The Gervasutta Hospital has housed the Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (IMFR) since 1996 and, like all hospitals, its structure must be continuously adapted to align with changes in treatment systems, technological developments and the ever-increasing expectations of the community.
The upgrading phase that is the subject of this Executive Project is defined as “Second Intervention”, since an important renovation phase – “First Intervention” – has been completed with the construction of the New Wards Pavilion and the annexed protected sanitary access, while the full renovation will take place with execution of the “Third Intervention”, which is currently being developed at the Preliminary Project level.
All the works foreseen in this “Second Intervention” as well as the future ones pertaining to the “Third Intervention” fit and are linked within a consolidated, efficient healthcare body, whose functions should not be interrupted, and which represents, among everything else, the major critical aspect addressed in the planning, to be taken into due consideration also in the implementation phase.
The choice of improvements has been geared towards the use of materials and/or products with a minimum content of post-consumer material, resulting from the recovery of waste and materials from the disassembly of complex products and the possession of CE marking.
