Completion Municipality of Reggio Emilia

This project concerns a part of the Compagnoni- Fenulli section II urban redevelopment programme, co-financed by the Emilia-Romagna Region (Contratti di Quartiere 2) and includes, in particular, completion of the two ERP 2B-2C buildings, work already envisaged by the Piano Particolareggiato di Iniziativa Pubblica (PUA) approved by the City Council in 2005. The upgrade project includes the realisation of the primary urbanisation works strictly necessary for their functioning.

Project Details

Each building, in line, consists of 20 public housing units.
The five storeys, divided into two stairwells, are served by vertical mechanised systems, and have two dwellings per floor, while the basement floor houses the accessory services to the residence, supplemented by parking spaces pertaining to the dwellings.

Main interventions

– Cycle and pedestrian system developed along the north-south axis
– Large equipped green area
– Driveway access system complemented by public car parks and greenery for visual and acoustic mitigation
– Open spaces for aggregation on a neighbourhood scale that integrate with the system of cycle and pedestrian links
– Vertical mechanised systems
– Residential ancillary services complemented by parking spaces pertaining to housing
– Adoption of wall sections designed to promote a high thermal insulation coefficient

Sustainability

To improve well-being and as a result, the use of energy resources, we highlight the adoption of wall sections designed to favour a high thermal insulation coefficient, both on the vertical and horizontal planes of the building.
The adoption of appropriate technological solutions aimed at reducing internal electromagnetic pollution and optimising the management of energy consumption are indispensable to guarantee adequate anti-intrusion security systems and energy and environmental sustainability.
